2Face Idibia

Innocent Nigerian singer-songwriter, record producer, and businessman Ujah Idibia. Well recognized as 2face Idibia, he changed his name to 2Baba in July 2014. With over 70 awards under his belt, 2Baba is one of the most well-known and celebrated Afro pop performers in Africa. He was one of the 40 most influential African celebrities, according to Forbes.

2Face Education

On September 18, 1975, Innocent Idibia was born in Jos, Nigeria. He is a member of the Idoma tribe, which is located in southern Benue, Nigeria. In Makurdi, Benue State, 2Face attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School. Later, he relocated to the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu (IMT), where he completed the requirements for his initial National Diploma in Business Administration and Management. Later, 2Baba moved away to focus on his music career.

2Face Personal Life

2face Idibia and Annie Idibia were married in 2012, and the couple has two daughters. He has a total of seven children, born to him by three different women. Isabel, Nino, Zion, Justin, Rose, Innocent, and Olivia are his children.

2Face Idibia Early Musical Career

While he was a student at IMT, 2Face began his musical career. He performed in events that were hosted by the school and other institutions throughout the city during this time. Specifically, the University of Nigeria and the Enugu State University of Science and Technology

2Baba began creating jingles at the GB Fanclub at Enugu State Broadcasting Services in 1996 while still in school (ESBS). He also chose the stage name 2face (Tu face) that year as a means of separating his personal life from his professional life.

Plantashun Boiz

In 2000, 2face, Black face (Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo), and Faze (Chibuzor Orji) founded Plantashun Boiz. The group created the Plantashun Boiz and successfully released two albums on the Dove Records label: Body & Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003). Sadly, the Plantashun Boiz split up in 2004 as each member focused on their own careers. For the recording of their third and final album, Plan B, they returned in 2007.

Face 2 Face (2Baba Debut Studio Album)

Face to Face, Innocent Idibia’s debut studio album, was released on May 15, 2004, the same year that the Plantashun Boiz broke up. The album helped 2face gain recognition as a successful solo performer, and it was a huge success, selling millions of copies. Segun Ogungbe, working for the Kennis Music Record Label, produced it. The lead single, “African Queen,” is largely responsible for the success of the Face 2 Face album. Nfana Ibanga (No Problem), Ole (Thief) ft. Freestyle, Right Here, Holy (skit), U no holy Pass, African Queen, Police (skit), Keep on Rocking ft. Natives & Lil Seal, Thank You Lord, and Odi Ya ft. Blackface are among the album’s 11 songs.

With the addition of “Forgive and Forget,” the first four tracks were reworked and released on January 27, 2006 as the South African Edition.

African Queen

This song is a guitar ballad with elements of hip-hop and west African folk music. The song African Queen has remained popular, and many listeners continue to ask for it to be played on radio programs and television programs. In the African Queen music video, which has received over 10 million views on YouTube, Annie Macaulay had a brief cameo.
