Duncan Mighty Early Life

In Port Harcout, Rivers State, Duncan Mighty completed his elementary, secondary, and university education. Growing up, Duncan Mighty played an instrument, served as choir director and played the drums in church. When he eventually went to college, he studied audio engineering. He completed his IT coursework at Dolphin Studios in Muson Centre, Lagos, prior to graduation, and he worked as a sound instructor for Benson and Hedges during his Youth Service.

In 2006, after his return from Lagos, he worked for the record labels D Large Records and 360 Records before partnering with Chris Aire to found AireMighty Records.

In 2008, he issued his first studio album, “Koliwater.” Ijeoma, Scatter my Dada, and Ako na Uche were among the hit songs from the album “Koliwater,” which was a tremendous success.

He launched his second album, “Ahamefuna (Legacy),” in 2010. The 15-track album included songs like “Obianuju” and “Port Harcout Son,” which helped him gain prominence and a sizable following on social media.

His third studio album, “Footprints,” was released in September 2012 and features both domestic and foreign artists, including Timaya, Shaggy, Otuu Sax, Sandaz Black, and Black Diamond Wande Coal.

Later, he established his own record company, Young Wealth Records, and used it to create his 2014 fourth album, “Grace and Talent.”

Duncan Mighty Personal Life

He claimed in an open letter that Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers State at the time, owed him 50 million naira as payment for his appearance at a youth concert, for which he had only received an upfront payment of 10 million naira. The state’s information commissioner, however, flatly refuted the claim and insisted that they owed the musician nothing.

Vivien Okechukwu and he were wed on July 25, 2015.
