On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, a nurse who is suspected of killing multiple babies will go on trial. The 32-year-old nurse is accused of killing five boys, two girls, and trying to kill an additional five boys and five girls between June 2015 and June 2016. The Hereford resident worked as a neonatal nurse at the Chester hospital front desk. She graduated with a nursing degree from the University of Chester in 2011. She started working at Liverpool Women’s Hospital after receiving her degree.
Letby was detained in 2018 on suspicion of murdering eight infants at the hospital where she worked, Chester. She was arrested once more in June 2019 after attempting to kill three more babies. Letby was detained once more in November 2020 and accused with seven murders and ten attempted murders. The Countess of Chester Hospital’s neonatal ward was the focus of a police inquiry in May 2017. The hospital board itself issued a warning due to the high number of deaths that occurred between March 2015 and July 2016.

A section 45 order, which states that the press and media are not allowed to distinguish between the five boys and the five girls who were allegedly the victims of an attempted murder, was requested by district judge Nicholas Sanders of Warrington magistrates court.
Police stated that they were keeping the parents of all the affected newborns informed of what was happening and that they were available to assist on November 4, 2020. She was taken into custody for the third time on Tuesday as a result of the ongoing inquiry into the hospital’s deaths of young patients that started in 2017.
Police detained the nurse twice in 2018 and 2019, but released her as they continued to question her. The cops also searched her home in Chester’s Blacon neighborhood after her prior arrest.
The nurse expressed her concern for the infants in a 2013 interview with the Chester and District Standard newspaper. She also need assistance on various levels.
Lucy Letby employed herself at the children’s unit as a student nurse throughout her three-year nursing program. She enrolled at the University of Chester in the fall of 2011 to study to be a pediatric nurse. Lucy added that she began working at the facility as soon as she graduated from medical school.
